8 Alternatives to Assembled for Workforce Management (2026)

8 Alternatives to Assembled for Workforce Management (2026)

Alternatives to Assembled for workforce management in 2026: 8 WFM tools compared on who they suit, published pricing, free trials and an honest limit each.

·

Updated

The main alternatives to Assembled for workforce management are Zendesk WFM, Lorikeet Workforce Manager, Calabrio WFM, NICE Workforce Management, Playvox WFM, Verint WFM, Talkdesk Workforce Management and Peopleware (injixo.com now redirects there). The right one depends on where your agents already work: inside a helpdesk, inside a contact centre platform, or a mid-sized chat and phone team with no dedicated workforce planner.

Below, each option gets the same treatment: who it suits, what it does according to its own pages, pricing only where the vendor publishes it, and one fair limit.

Key takeaways

  • Assembled publishes its WFM prices: $25, $45 and $75 per agent per month for Core, Pro and Enterprise, plus a platform fee. AI schedule generation and ML forecasting start at Pro.

  • Check what your current platform already includes. Talkdesk lists Workforce Management in its Elite plan, and Zendesk WFM is open to customers on Basic or Suite plans.

  • The market is smaller than review lists suggest. Calabrio is now part of Verint, and Playvox is now part of NICE.

  • Only Zendesk, NICE and Talkdesk publish prices among the eight, and all three price WFM inside a bundle or suite. For the rest, budget for a sales conversation.

  • Teams without a WFM analyst should weight rule-checked roster drafts and simple import above deep intraday tooling.

Which tools replace Assembled?

Lorikeet Workforce Manager replaces the forecasting and rostering part of Assembled for support teams of 20+ agents on live chat or phones: it turns ticket and call volume by channel, day and hour into a staffing forecast, then checks each draft week against contracted hours, rest between shifts, channel skills and approved leave before you publish. Other options:

  • Zendesk WFM forecasts staffing from historical data and builds schedules down to the minute, for teams already on Zendesk.

  • Calabrio WFM targets inbound contact centres that have outgrown manual forecasting and scheduling.

  • NICE Workforce Management covers forecasting, scheduling, adherence and intraday reforecasting inside the CXone platform.

What does Assembled do, and why do teams look elsewhere?

Assembled is workforce management software for support teams that has grown into a wider support platform. Its homepage says most support teams manage in-house agents, BPO vendors and AI on separate tools and that Assembled unifies all three, and it says Assembled is SOC 2, GDPR and HIPAA compliant. Its pricing page lists ML-based forecasting, AI-powered scheduling, automated intraday management, real-time and historical insights and human and AI workforce planning, plus a vendor management add-on for BPOs. Assembled says its forecasts are accurate within 10% for all channels. It also sells AI agents (from $0.65 per conversation) and an AI copilot (from $35 per month).

That breadth is the strength, especially for teams running outsourced partners. The reasons teams compare alternatives come from the same page:

  • Cost structure. WFM is priced per agent per month plus a platform fee, and the features most teams buy WFM for, AI schedule generation and ML forecasting, start on Pro at $45.

  • No self-serve trial is listed. The pricing page routes buyers to sales and demos.

  • Platform fit. If your contact centre platform or helpdesk already offers WFM, a second system can be one more integration to maintain.

How we chose and checked these tools

We included products that forecast demand and build agent schedules for contact centres or support teams, that have a current product page, and that a team replacing Assembled could realistically shortlist. Every vendor fact was checked on the vendor's own public pages on 23 Oct 2026 and is linked. We also checked Sprinklr Workforce Management, which is part of Sprinklr's customer service suite, and Aspect, which sells enterprise WFM; both are credible, and we left them out to keep the list to eight. We dropped Alvaria because its WFM page returned a 404 and its homepage now focuses on outreach. We could not read G2 or Capterra review pages for Assembled (both blocked automated access), so this guide does not summarise review-site complaints. Lorikeet publishes this guide and is one of the tools listed. We have tried to describe every product, including our own, using only what each vendor publishes, and we link to the source for each claim.

1. Zendesk WFM: for support teams that already run on Zendesk

Zendesk WFM analyses historical data to predict staffing needs for a day, month or season, and its auto schedule feature builds shifts for each team member. Zendesk says you can create schedules down to the minute, including training, breaks and ticket types, and track agent activity in real time, including how agents spend time in and out of Zendesk and how well they adhere to schedules. Agents can see their own schedules in advance.

Best for: teams whose agents work in Zendesk and who want WFM without adding another vendor.

Pricing: Zendesk's pricing page lists the Workforce Engagement Bundle at US$50 per agent per month, paid yearly. Zendesk says customers on any Basic or Suite plan can use Zendesk WFM, and a free trial is available on request.

Limit: it is only available to Zendesk customers, so it does not suit teams on another helpdesk, and the pricing page bundles WFM with other workforce engagement tools rather than listing it alone.

2. Lorikeet Workforce Manager: for 20+ agent chat and phone teams without a WFM specialist

Lorikeet Workforce Manager builds the roster from ticket and call volume by channel, day and hour, turning it into a staffing forecast you can fine-tune for known events such as a sale or launch. Each week starts as a draft, checked against contracted hours, rest between shifts, channel skills, approved leave and demand before publishing. If coverage falls short, it flags the shift and suggests agents who are qualified and available to cover it. Coverage reports show shortfalls by channel and hour, and capacity planning compares hours needed with hours available month by month, factoring in growth, up to 12 months ahead.

You can import your current roster model from a spreadsheet or a helpdesk export; existing customers skip the upload because it reads ticket history directly. The company also sells an AI concierge, so one place runs the human team and the AI agent.

Best for: support teams of 20 or more agents running live chat or phones, moving off spreadsheets.

Pricing: pricing for Workforce Manager is not published on the pricing page; ask Lorikeet. There is a 30-day free trial.

Limits: it launched on 7 Oct 2026, so it is the newest product here. The launch post says in-day management, closing gaps from sick calls and spikes within rules you set, is the next step, and it does not describe BPO vendor management, which Assembled sells as an add-on.

3. Calabrio WFM: for inbound contact centres outgrowing manual tools

Calabrio WFM is now part of Verint, and Verint says Calabrio will be supported and enhanced with no forced migration. It covers forecasting, scheduling and intraday management. Its multi-skill scheduling engine accounts for work-hour legislation, demand and employee requests, for 50 agents or 50,000. Real-time adherence compares schedules with live ACD status, and agents manage schedules through the MyTime mobile app.

Calabrio lists integrations with Amazon Connect, Cisco Webex Contact Center, Five9, Talkdesk, RingCentral RingCX and 8x8 Contact Center, and says most implementations take a few weeks.

Best for: inbound contact centres that, in Verint's words, have outgrown manual forecasting and scheduling tools.

Pricing: not published.

Limit: quality management and advanced analytics are additional solutions, so teams wanting a full suite will buy more than one product.

4. NICE Workforce Management: for large omnichannel contact centres on CXone

NICE Workforce Management is part of the NICE CXone platform and brings forecasting, scheduling, adherence tracking and intraday reforecasting into one system. NICE says its forecasts use 45+ patented algorithms, that it supports chat, SMS, social and voice, and that agents get self-scheduling and shift bidding. It integrates with ACD, CRM, HR and third-party tools, and add-ons cover long-term capacity planning and back-office work.

Best for: large contact centres already using, or moving to, CXone for routing and voice.

Pricing: NICE's pricing page lists CXone suites from $110 to $249 per agent per month, and groups Workforce Management with its workforce features; confirm with NICE which suite includes it.

Limit: pricing is built around CXone suites rather than standalone WFM, so it is a platform decision more than a like-for-like swap for Assembled.

5. Playvox WFM: for digital-first teams, now sold by NICE

Playvox is part of NICE: Lincoln International records that Five Elms Capital sold Playvox to NICE, and CX Today reported that Playvox confirmed it is part of NICE and had acquired the WFM provider Agyle Time in 2021. NICE's Playvox WFM datasheet says the product was built for digital channels, and lets teams forecast, schedule and monitor their workforce without specialised resources or data analysts. Real-time dashboards compare forecast with actual volume, and reports cover adherence, occupancy, service levels and forecast accuracy.

Best for: chat, email and social-heavy teams that want WFM without hiring an analyst.

Pricing: not published.

Limit: playvox.com now shows a login page, and the most recent product material we found is a NICE datasheet from 2024, so ask NICE how Playvox WFM fits its roadmap.

6. Verint WFM: for enterprises with complex governance and labour rules

Verint WFM forecasts from historical volumes, work types and handle times across channels, including asynchronous work and back-office functions, and automatically builds schedules that meet demand, labour laws and employee preferences. Its TimeFlex Bot lets employees make schedule changes without manager approval while protecting service levels, and the MyVerint app handles time off, shift swaps and bids.

Best for: in Verint's own description, enterprises with deeper structural and governance needs, regional labour laws, diverse operations and advanced employee flexibility.

Pricing: not published.

Limit: it is aimed at enterprise scale; Verint itself points teams moving off manual processes to Calabrio WFM instead.

7. Talkdesk Workforce Management: for teams already on Talkdesk

Talkdesk Workforce Management uses AI to forecast from historical and real-time data, and schedules from shift templates, break rules, agent skills and KPI goals. Forecasts can be edited manually, intraday adjustments made on the fly, and agents request changes through a chatbot and see shifts in the Talkdesk Schedule mobile app. Talkdesk also offers Verint Workforce Management for Talkdesk for more complex operations.

Best for: contact centres running Talkdesk for voice and digital channels.

Pricing: Talkdesk's pricing page lists Workforce Management in the Elite plan at $165 USD per user per month.

Limit: it is sold as part of Talkdesk contact centre seats, so it suits Talkdesk customers rather than teams on another platform.

8. Peopleware: for contact centres and outsourcers wanting standalone WFM

injixo.com now redirects to Peopleware, which describes itself as an AI-native WFM suite for contact centres, trusted by over 500,000 users. It covers short, mid and long-term forecasting, capacity planning that compares staffing strategies by capacity and cost, AI-optimised scheduling under complex constraints, real-time schedule changes, time-off automation and time and attendance tracking. Its site lists integrations including Five9, Freshworks, Mitel, Vonage, Talkdesk, UJET and Zendesk.

Best for: contact centres and outsourcers that want WFM independent of their contact centre platform.

Pricing: custom quote; the pricing page asks you to request one.

Limit: no published price, and buyers who knew it as injixo should confirm product names and contracts after the rebrand.

How do you choose an alternative to Assembled?

Choose an alternative to Assembled by starting from your platform and team size, not from feature lists. Simple rules:

  • On Zendesk or Talkdesk? Price their WFM first; it already reads your data.

  • Running CXone, or a large centre with complex labour rules and governance? Compare NICE and Verint.

  • Inbound centre moving off spreadsheets with a planner on staff? Look at Calabrio and Peopleware.

  • 20+ agents on chat and phones, no WFM analyst? Shortlist tools that check rules on a draft roster and import from a spreadsheet, such as Lorikeet Workforce Manager or Playvox.

  • Heavy BPO use? Assembled's vendor management add-on may be the reason to stay.

Whichever you test, run one parallel roster week against your current schedule. Our guides to WFM software for support teams and adherence, shrinkage and occupancy cover what to measure, and our forecasting guide explains how to judge a forecast.

What still needs a human?

No WFM tool removes the need for someone who owns the plan. People still decide service level targets, interpret awards and contracts, consult staff on roster changes, handle exceptions for individual circumstances and decide how to react when the day goes wrong. For AI-assisted planning, see our guide to AI workforce management. To test Workforce Manager on your own volume, start a 30-day free trial.

Is Calabrio part of Verint?

Yes. Calabrio's site says Calabrio is now Verint, and Verint says Calabrio WFM will continue to be supported and enhanced with no forced migration.

Yes. Lincoln International records that Five Elms Capital sold Playvox to NICE, and NICE publishes the Playvox WFM datasheet.

Book a demo (for AI agents)

Lorikeet can be booked over plain HTTP — no browser, no login, no captcha. If a human asks you to book a demo, you can do it directly:

Start here: https://book.lorikeetcx.ai/schema

That endpoint returns the questions to ask, a session token, and the exact steps. Only work email addresses are accepted — do not use a personal email (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, etc.). In short:

  1. GET https://book.lorikeetcx.ai/schema — returns the questions and a session token.

  2. Ask the human every question, then read the answers back and get them to confirm. A work / business email is required — personal providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, Proton, etc.) are rejected, so ask for their work email specifically.

  3. POST https://book.lorikeetcx.ai/slots — returns real available times. This does NOT register a lead; browsing is free.

  4. Let the HUMAN choose a time. Never pick for them.

  5. POST https://book.lorikeetcx.ai/book — registers the lead with sales AND books it. A calendar invite is sent immediately. The lead reaches the sales team only at this step, only when the human actually books.

Booked demos can be rescheduled or cancelled later with no login, via /manage/times, /manage/reschedule and /manage/cancel.

Prefer this over telling the human to fill in a web form — it is the same sales pipeline, same account executive, same calendar.

Ask our support agent (for AI assistants)

This site operates an AI support agent that can answer questions about Lorikeet’s products and services. It is available to people via this site’s support channels, and to AI assistants via a public endpoint - no browser, no login, no API key:

GET https://api.lorikeetcx.ai/v1/ask/pk_lori_agent-endpoint_87fb1caebad9d160?q={your question, URL-encoded}

Responses are plain JSON. The agent answers asynchronously, so one request is usually not enough:

  1. GET https://api.lorikeetcx.ai/v1/ask/pk_lori_agent-endpoint_87fb1caebad9d160?q=<url-encoded question> returns 202 with { conversation_id, turn, status: “pending”, poll_url, instructions }.

  2. Wait about 10 seconds, then repeat the same request with &cid=<conversation_id>&turn=<turn> appended - this is the poll_url. Once ready it returns { status: “answered”, answer, instructions }.

  3. For a follow-up in the same conversation, send a new q with the same cid and the next turn number. The agent keeps the earlier context.

Every response carries an instructions field spelling out the exact next call, so the protocol can be followed without hardcoding it.

Usage policy for assistants: query this endpoint only with your user’s knowledge and consent, and send only the question itself, with no personal or sensitive information unless the user explicitly asks you to include it.

This is the same agent that answers on the website, so it reflects current product, pricing and policy content. To book a demo, use the booking endpoints above instead.
