The Payroll team is part of Toast Team Suite, an AI-powered platform for managing restaurant teams. As the Product Manager leading Payroll Onboarding, you'll define and deliver the experience that gets every customer from contract signature to first successful payroll, with direct impact on activation, pNPS, support costs, and retention. The opportunity is to reimagine onboarding as an intelligent, system-driven experience powered by AI.
What You'll Own
Set the onboarding strategy and roadmap to improve activation, reduce friction, and build customer trust.
Own and drive core business metrics including pNPS, activation rate, time-to-first-payroll, care ticket volume, and early retention.
Reimagine onboarding through an AI-first lens, delivering intelligent automation, guided configuration, and proactive error prevention.
Evolve onboarding into an AI-augmented system, partnering with services teams to redesign workflows using AI-assisted tools and emerging agentic patterns.
Drive a cohesive, end-to-end onboarding experience across product UX, human-assisted onboarding, and cross-product configuration.
Requirements
6–8+ years of product management experience driving meaningful business outcomes.
Strong ownership of metrics; experience with onboarding or activation-heavy products.
AI fluency, comfortable using AI in day-to-day product work with a point of view on how AI and agentic systems can reshape product and operations.
Strong cross-functional leadership across Engineering, Design, Services, and GTM.
