As a Sr AI Engineer on the IntentCX team, you'll drive the optimization and orchestration of AI models that power T-Mobile's customer service automation. This role focuses on enhancing model outputs through prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and agentic AI systems that make customer service feel genuinely human.
Responsibilities
Build agentic AI systems that accomplish complex tasks by invoking AI models and internal/third-party tools via APIs.
Optimize performance through prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and reinforcement learning on customer interaction data.
Develop AI tools, workflows, and middleware for structured reasoning, multi-step task execution, and contextual memory.
Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) so AI responses are accurate and grounded in real-time data.
Monitor real-world AI performance and iterate on model behavior based on live interaction data.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
4+ years developing and deploying ML models, particularly in AI-driven customer service automation.
4+ years with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and creating AI tools and workflows.
Proficiency in Python and AI development frameworks.
Experience with LLM fine-tuning (OpenAI, Hugging Face, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini) and orchestration tools (LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases).
Hands-on knowledge of function calling, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent architectures.
