Digital Director

BON CHARGE is a premium global ecommerce brand. The Digital Director owns the company's digital infrastructure end-to-end across all global storefronts, reporting to the CMO.

This role ensures BON CHARGE's digital experience scales into a world-class ecommerce ecosystem capable of supporting global growth, premium brand positioning and high-performance customer acquisition, translating commercial strategy into platform capability while protecting the business from technical debt and platform risk.

Shopify Platform Ownership

  • Own the Shopify ecosystem architecture, theme codebase, release management and access governance.

  • Manage multi-storefront logic: regional pricing, currency, Shopify Markets configuration and localised checkout flows.

  • Maintain platform health: uptime, Core Web Vitals, mobile performance and checkout reliability.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for platform incidents with a defined response protocol.

Platform Efficiency & Optimisation

  • Own site performance (LCP, CLS, FID) with a bias toward measurable conversion impact.

  • Run the CRO programme at platform level: A/B testing infrastructure, experiment backlog and test velocity, managing external CRO agency partners.

  • Eliminate checkout, cart and account flow friction to reduce abandonment and increase AOV.

  • Deliver a monthly platform scorecard to the executive team and build a culture of continuous experimentation.

Ecommerce Design & Development

  • Lead a blended squad of in-house developers, contractors and agency partners with clear sprint cadence, QA process and accountability.

  • Own all external development and design agency relationships against defined scope, timelines and quality.

  • Maintain a front-end component library aligned to BON CHARGE brand guidelines.

  • Own UX research at platform level (session recording, heatmaps, user testing) synthesised into actionable design improvements.

Technology & App Ecosystem

  • Own the full app and integration stack, supporting other departments in evaluation, onboarding, configuration, maintenance and deprecation.

  • Maintain a living technology map covering every tool's function, cost, contract status and ROI, governing app spend against budget.

  • Lead integration with analytics and paid media data pipelines, own Shopify Flow automation and evaluate middleware.

  • Continuously evaluate emerging ecommerce technologies including AI-driven search, merchandising, personalisation and automation.

Digital Roadmap

  • Own and maintain a rolling 12-month digital roadmap, sequenced by commercial impact and technical dependency.

  • Translate CMO and commercial objectives into scoped, prioritised, resourced platform capability.

  • Lead quarterly roadmap reviews and horizon-scan Shopify platform releases and deprecations.
