DGM Data Analyst

About the Role:

As a DGM – Product Analytics, you will be responsible for driving impactful data analytics initiatives across product and business functions at Airtel. In this high-visibility role, you will guide the analytics strategy, help optimize product performance, and enable data-backed decision-making. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Marketing, Product, and Customer Experience, to ensure that data insights are embedded in the product development lifecycle and business operations.

You will focus on analyzing product performance, identifying opportunities for optimization, and implementing AI-driven solutions to improve business outcomes. Your work will empower teams to enhance customer experiences, optimize conversion funnels, reduce churn, and boost engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Define and drive the analytics strategy for product performance across various teams, ensuring alignment with key business outcomes and action plans.

  • Identify critical metrics and KPIs to track product health, engagement, and customer lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the broader organizational objectives.

  • Collaborate with leadership teams to set data-driven goals and track progress, adjusting strategies based on insights.

End-to-End Execution:

  • Lead data analysis projects independently, providing actionable insights to enhance product performance, optimize customer journeys, and increase product adoption.

  • Develop and create impactful KPIs to continuously monitor product performance and enable data-driven decision-making.

  • Work with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, CX) to embed analytics into the product development process and ensure outcomes align with key business objectives.

AI/ML-Driven Insights and Solutions:

  • Apply machine learning models and AI-powered techniques to improve product features, drive growth, and optimize key business processes such as churn prediction and customer engagement.

  • Explore innovative applications of AI, including Generative AI tools, to enhance analytics processes, reporting, and decision-making.

  • Use predictive analytics and anomaly detection to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams to define analytical approaches that drive product success.

  • Provide actionable insights through clear and compelling data stories, ensuring business leaders can easily understand and apply data findings.

Mentorship \& Team Development:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, helping them develop their technical skills and data storytelling abilities.

  • Share best practices and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the analytics team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 7- 10 years of experience in analytics and data science, with a strong background in driving end-to-end analytics projects that influence product strategy and business outcomes.

  • Proven track record in leading analytics efforts related to product performance, customer acquisition, retention, and engagement.

Business \& Product Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of product development cycles, conversion funnels, and customer lifecycle metrics.

  • Deep knowledge of business KPIs such as lead conversion, customer acquisition costs, engagement rates, and churn.

  • Experience in mapping the customer journey and identifying opportunities for optimization.

Technical Expertise:

  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

  • Solid understanding of machine learning models and AI-driven techniques (e.g., regression, classification, clustering).

  • Experience with A/B testing, cohort analysis, and other product optimization techniques.

  • Familiarity with data infrastructure, including ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and cloud-based analytics platforms.

AI/ML Knowledge:

  • Hands-on experience applying AI/ML models to product and customer data for insights.

  • Experience with AI-powered solutions in business intelligence and product analytics is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Generative AI tools and how they can enhance reporting and insights generation is beneficial.

Leadership \& Communication:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytics insights into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.

  • Proven leadership skills, with experience mentoring junior analysts and fostering a collaborative, results-driven team environment.

Additional Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple analytics projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results within tight timelines.

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy, with a focus on continuous improvement.
