Optus is on a mission to transform how Australians live, work and connect — and AI is central to that journey. We are seeking an Associate Director, AI Product Management to lead enterprise‑wide AI product innovation and drive measurable business impact across customer service and sales.
This is a senior product leadership role where you will shape the AI strategy, roadmap and execution of AI‑powered customer experiences. Acting as a critical bridge between technology, business and customers, you will ensure AI solutions are scalable, ethical and aligned to Optus’ broader strategic vision
What You’ll Do
Lead the AI product strategy and roadmap, aligning AI initiatives with customer service and sales priorities
Champion AI‑driven innovation across the organisation, embedding an AI‑first mindset
Build and scale enterprise‑grade AI products, setting industry benchmarks for customer experience
Own and deliver outcomes across conversational AI, intelligent routing and predictive automation, tied to OKRs
Translate complex AI initiatives into clear value stories, delivering quarterly business reviews on impact and performance
Act as a thought leader and advocate for AI, shaping next‑generation customer experiences
Partner with internal teams and specialist AI partners to accelerate innovation and scale
Influence culture and capability, driving adoption and confidence in AI solutions
What Makes You Perfect
You are a high‑energy, impact‑driven product leader who thrives in fast‑paced, complex environments. You bring:
8\+ years’ experience in product management, ideally with hands‑on technical depth in software, engineering or AI
Proven success driving commercial outcomes through digital and AI‑enabled products
Strong customer focus with a passion for improving end‑to‑end experiences
Exceptional stakeholder influence, communication and storytelling skills
Demonstrated people leadership capability, developing and empowering high‑performing teams
The ability to move fast, adapt quickly and lead change with confidence
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or a related discipline (ideal)
