Jerry.ai is a pre-IPO startup ($240M raised, 5M+ customers, profitable) building the first app to manage car and home ownership end-to-end, from buy/sell to insurance, maintenance, and repairs.
Why We're Hiring This Role
Jerry launched car insurance in 2019 and became a top-three broker, in part by building its own infrastructure to automate sales and service conversations before off-the-shelf platforms existed. That head start created leverage and complexity: prompts powering everything from the customer-facing chatbot to vehicle photo validation to back-office automation now live across six separate locations with no single source of truth. You will own unifying this platform and setting the roadmap for the next bets, including voicebot and computer use.
How You'll Make an Impact
Lead end-to-end development for the AI platform and customer experiences, from initial roadmap to rollout, for a system that automates over 70% of inbound sales and service requests (50k+ chats per month).
Partner with engineers to design prompt strategies, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails, balancing latency, cost, and accuracy.
Serve as the technical translator between engineering and the broader organization, establishing AI best practices and platform standards.
Drive systematic improvement in answer quality, customer satisfaction, and automation rates through rigorous experimentation.
Work with partners at OpenAI to evaluate and deploy the next generation of voice models and workflow automation.
Ideal Experience
3+ years in a technical role such as forward deployed engineering, technical product management, or similar at a fast-paced startup.
Passion and curiosity for AI systems including modern LLMs, plus familiarity with SQL.
Track record of turning complex, strategic ideas into scalable, production-grade products.
