โœจ Backed by Westpac Bank \| AFR Best Places to Work Finalist 2025

At Lawpath, we believe access to legal, accounting and compliance services should be simple, affordable, and empowering. We are Australia's leading online legal, accounting and compliance platform. Our mission is to make starting and running a business easy. More than 500,000 businesses have already trusted Lawpath with their legal, tax and compliance needs, and we are on track to help one million by 2030. We can't achieve this without great people. That is where you come in.

We are looking for team members who want to level the playing field for small business owners. You'll join a team that combines innovation and empathy to solve real problems every day, from tax and compliance to legal challenges and business growth. And with Lawpath recently named the 2025 Smart50 Innovator Award Winner, you'll be part of a team recognised for pushing boundaries and transforming how small businesses access support.

About the role

We're growing our Digital Transformation team and looking for an Automation Specialist to help connect the systems that power our Sales, CX and Marketing teams. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to learn how a fast-moving SMB platform actually runs behind the scenes, and who's keen to get real experience owning automations end to end, from scoping through build, testing, launch and ongoing performance. You don't need years of experience for this one. We're looking for a fresh perspective, a genuine curiosity about how data and systems connect, and the drive to learn quickly on the job.

How our values show up in this role

1. ๐Ÿ† Own It

  • Every automation you build has your name on it, from first scoping conversation through to the day it's live and running unattended. If something breaks at 2am or a workflow starts misfiring, you're the one who digs into the root cause and fixes it properly, not the one who patches it and moves on.

2. ๐Ÿ“ˆ Raise the Bar, Together

  • You'll document your workflow logic clearly enough that a teammate could pick it up without you in the room, and you'll bring honest feedback on what's not working before anyone has to ask. Every automation you touch should leave the system a little more reliable than you found it.

3. ๐Ÿ’œ Care Like It's Yours

  • You're building the workflows that decide which customer a seller calls, how quickly a support ticket gets triaged, and whether a marketing message lands with the right person. You'll think about the customer or colleague being served, not just whether the automation technically ran.

4. โžก๏ธ Push Forward

  • You won't wait to be told a process is broken. You'll ship a first version, watch how it performs against real data, and iterate rather than chase a perfect build before anything goes live.

While no two days will be the same, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Building automations across our frontline stack including Salesforce, Intercom, AWS Connect and our customer data platform, so data flows smoothly between the systems our Sales, CX and Marketing teams rely on.

  • Supporting day-to-day sales engagement automation, for example flagging upcoming subscription renewals, creating opportunities and routing them to the right seller with the right context.

  • Owning the full lifecycle of the automations you build, including monitoring performance once they're live and iterating when something isn't landing.

  • Helping build and maintain agentic workflows that connect platforms like Slack and Gmail with our broader tech stack.

  • Working with Marketing to build audience segments and automations from customer data, so the right message reaches the right customer at the right time.

  • Documenting how your workflows are built and why, so they're easy for teammates to understand, maintain or build on.

  • Getting hands-on with AI and agentic use cases as we roll out more automation across the business over the next few months.

About You

  • 1-3 years of experience. We're just as keen to hear from capable graduates as we are from early-career professionals who've picked up some automation, data or systems experience.

  • Genuine curiosity about how business systems and data connect, and a willingness to learn new tools quickly.

  • Comfortable working in an agile environment, where you take ownership of your work, iterate based on feedback and don't wait for the perfect solution before shipping something useful.

  • Open to feedback and different points of view. You're not precious about being right, and you'd rather improve something together than defend it.

  • A pragmatic, business-first mindset. You care about understanding the workflow and the "why" behind an automation, not just the technical build.

  • Comfortable working with APIs, or keen to learn, to connect automations into CRM, CX and marketing platforms.

  • Full working rights in Australia are required for this role.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to tools like Segment, n8n, or a data warehouse.

  • Interest in AI or LLM tooling as a complement to workflow automation.

  • Any exposure to a legaltech, fintech or SaaS environment.
